Portal is such a fantastic game. The puzzles are fun, unique and give a seemingly endless combination of head scratchers. I'm also amazed at how simple the game was kept. It really is a perfect example of balancing interesting gameplay while minimizing project scope.

For my next project, I wanted to learn all about Fortnite Creative. Fortnite is one of - if not the - most popular game of today. When I found out it had a design editor I couldn't wait to put my skills to the test and learn all about the tool.

TECH DEMOS
Customizing Metahumans
Skills showcased: UE, Blueprints, Shaders, Character art, Quixel Mixer/Bridge/Megascans, Apple ARKit, Sequencer
I've been fascinated with Metahumans since they were introduced by Unreal in 2021. Having access to the high fidelity and fully rigged character models is such an amazing benefit offered by the Unreal platform.
While the native character generator is an amazing tool, it doesn't fully unleash the users desire for customization. I've explored pipelines to generate new faces, animate and voice these characters. I love sharing my passion and knowledge with others. The following tutorial was created to highlight the culmination of my findings and to encourage others to explore these and other pipelines.
Sequencer Animation Projects
Skills showcased: UE, Sequencer, Animation, Kitbashing, Sound Design, Tech Art, Shaders, DMX Lighting
The Unreal Engine team puts on semi-regular challenges to promote new tools within the Engine. The challenge theme was "Creep it Real", the requirement was to make a short video to showcase your world building abilities. I submitted Creepin' it Real for this project.
At the time I was really interested in learning about DMX lighting which had been showcased by UE (more info).
Sequencer Animation Projects (cont.)
Skills showcased: UE, Sequencer, Animation, Kitbashing, Sound Design, Tech Art, Shaders, DMX Lighting, Control Rig, IK Retargetting

API's using BLUEPRINTS
Skills Showcased: Blueprint scripting, API's, Plugins
While I was exploring options for generating voice performances I discovered REPLICA studios and their text to speech performance tools. They supply AI generated voice tools to empower users with an army of different text to speech actors, allowing for mass variety and expedient voice performances. As I tend to do, I dug further than just the user level offering and discovered they employed an API. I was interested in pursuing the potential for real-time voice acting and the challenge of utilizing an API with Blueprints. The referenced tutorial was created to share my findings and knowledge on the subject.
